Start with the job the fence has to do
If privacy is the priority, a cedar wood fence or a vinyl privacy fence with no gaps between panels gives you the most coverage. If you have pets or kids and want a secure, budget-conscious option, chain link contains a yard reliably at a low cost per linear foot. If low maintenance matters most, vinyl never needs painting, staining, or sealing. If you are securing a business, warehouse, or job site, commercial chain link with optional security enhancements is built for that. And if curb appeal and a defined property line matter more than full privacy, ornamental steel fencing gives you a decorative, code-compliant look, including around pools. Budget factors into every choice as well, and Elite Fence handles the city permit research and pulls as part of the project.
Elite Fence has installed fences across the Kansas City metro since 2003, when founder Kevin Lint launched the company after roughly nine years working as an installer, job supervisor, and sales rep for another Kansas City fence contractor. The company is still family-owned today, with Kevin’s wife Christina overseeing customer service since 2012. Every project is backed by a 1-year craftsmanship warranty, and many materials carry 10-year, 20-year, or lifetime manufacturer warranties on top of that.
Elite Fence serves Raymore, Belton, Lee’s Summit, Blue Springs, Overland Park, and the greater Kansas City metro on both sides of the state line. Estimates are free, whether you request one on-site or run the numbers first with the free fence estimator tool.

These five cover most Kansas City properties, but they are not everything Elite Fence installs. We also build specialty styles such as 3- and 4-rail vinyl and wood fence set on steel posts. Ask about any of these at your estimate.
Why Elite Fence
Built in Kansas City, backed in writing
Kevin Lint founded Elite Fence in 2003 after years as an installer, job supervisor, and sales rep for another Kansas City fence contractor. It is still a family business, with Christina Lint running customer service since 2012, and the crews source thicker-gauge steel and higher-grade cedar than the big-box stores carry.
Every job is led by a Master Installer, backed by a 1-year craftsmanship warranty, and many materials add 10-year, 20-year, or lifetime manufacturer warranties on top.

Questions we hear most
Fence type FAQs
Which fence type gives the most privacy?
Cedar wood or vinyl privacy fencing. Both can be built with no gaps between the pickets, so nothing shows through.
Which fence type costs the least up front?
Chain link has the lowest upfront cost per linear foot. Cedar wood comes in below vinyl and ornamental. The free estimator gives you a rough number for your yard in about 3 minutes.
Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
A city permit is often required, and you do not have to sort that out yourself. Elite Fence researches and pulls the city permit as part of every project. HOA approval is separate: guidelines vary by neighborhood, so check your HOA’s fence rules directly before install.
How long does installation take?
Most residential vinyl projects, around 200 linear feet, take 1 to 3 days. Timelines for other materials are set at your estimate based on the length, terrain, and gates involved.
What warranty comes with the fence?
Every fence type carries Elite Fence’s 1-year craftsmanship warranty. Many materials also come with 10-year, 20-year, or lifetime manufacturer warranties.
